What Are Lingual Braces?

Similarly to traditional braces, lingual braces rely on the use of an archwire threaded through metal brackets that are bonded to the teeth. However, these brackets are placed on the backs of the teeth, facing the tongue, rather than the front. This means that they function identically to traditional braces but without the drawback of being incredibly noticeable! InBrace takes this convenience even further by eliminating the need for elastic ties to hold the wires in the brackets; small clips are used instead, making insertion and removal significantly easier.

How InBrace Works

InBrace is made possible thanks to some of the coolest technology that modern orthodontics has to offer! Dr. Larson can create a digital map of the inside of your mouth and use that data to create a unique “Smartwire.” This is a special type of wire that’s designed to gently move your teeth into place. InBrace can address all the same issues as traditional metal braces: crooked and crowded teeth, bite issues, uneven spacing, and more. It can also provide these results in a much faster timeframe, with many patients noticing visible improvement in as little as three to four months.

Who Is a Good Candidate for In-Brace Lingual Braces?

There’s no other option on the market like InBrace—they’re the only true type of invisible braces! When you smile while wearing InBrace, it’s impossible to tell that you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment since they’re facing the tongue.

Better yet, this positioning doesn’t impede their function at all, and InBrace lingual braces are able to deliver the same results as their traditional counterparts. They can address a wide scope of mild or serious orthodontic issues, and they also facilitate healthy tooth movement since they move teeth individually rather than all at once. They also don’t have to be adjusted quite as frequently as traditional braces, meaning you’ll have fewer check-in appointments to attend.

The bottom line is that if you’re looking for a truly invisible orthodontic treatment, even more discreet than clear aligners, there’s perhaps no better option than InBrace.

Is InBrace Better Than Invisalign?

With so many treatment options available these days, it’s not always easy to compare and contrast any two given choices. But when it comes to InBrace, it’s clear that this option has several unique advantages that make it much more enticing than clear aligner treatments like Invisalign.

For one, lingual braces are attached to the teeth, meaning that there’s no degree of patient compliance as there is with clear aligners. And since the brackets are bonded to the back of the teeth, they’re arguably even more discreet than the nearly transparent plastic material used for Invisalign trays. While this does mean that you’ll have to take a little care whenever eating or brushing and flossing, it’s hard to ignore the sheer amount of convenience associated with InBrace lingual braces compared to clear aligners.
