Our Treatment Philosophy

We trust in the body's natural ability to heal and align itself. We believe that many issues can resolve themselves with time, without aggressive interventions. Sometimes, the best solutions are the simplest and most elegant—and often more cost-effective.

Orthodontics for Children

According to the American Association of Orthodontists as well as Dr. Larson, children should receive their first orthodontic screening around age seven. By this time, the baby teeth have begun to fall out, the adult teeth are appearing, and the earliest signs of crookedness and crowding can become apparent to a trained eye. Applying orthodontics at this stage can not only fix current issues but also prevent many from developing in the first place, leading to shorter (and less costly) treatment in the long run.

Orthodontics for Teenagers

By the time someone is 13, most of their adult teeth (other than their wisdom teeth) should have come in, meaning addressing orthodontic problems is even more important because these are the teeth they’ll have for the rest of their lives! Of course, in addition to the health concerns, teens themselves have aesthetic concerns, as many don’t want to spend years with a mouthful of metal braces. Thankfully, our practice offers clear aligners and lingual braces that work just as well as traditional braces and allow patients to maintain their day-to-day appearance while getting closer to their final result.

Orthodontics for Adults

You’re never too old to straighten your teeth! While orthodontics takes a little longer for adults because the bones of the face and mouth are thicker and less responsive to change, it’s still possible to remove crowding, crookedness, gaps, and even imbalances in the bite. Similar to teens, many adults prefer clear aligners or lingual braces because they make it easier to keep their professional look through treatment. Orthodontics can also often be the solution for persistent headaches and teeth grinding that stem from a misaligned bite.
